Why would we replace a pending transaction?
Replacing a pending transaction is sometimes necessary if the transaction was created when Ethereum
gas fees were much lower.
Pending transactions are like clogs in a pipe; they prevent other transactions and claims.
Replacing a pending transaction will allow users to continue making other transactions and treasure chest
claims.
Should I replace my pending transaction?
That’s a personal choice. Replacing a pending transaction will cost an Ethereum gas fee. Pending
transactions tend to drop independently, but it can take a long time, sometimes longer than a week.
Procedure
Note: The user assumes all risk and responsibility for using this third-party wallet and any similar wallet.
1) First, install MetaMask by following the steps How To Install MetaMask
2) Next, follow the Import a Private Key into MetaMask to connect the Gala Games and Entertainment
wallet to MetaMask.
3) In a separate browser window, go to https://etherscan.io/ and type and search for your $GALA address:
4) In the lower half of the page, there will be a pending transaction- click on the blue link under Txn Hash
for the pending transaction:
5) At the bottom of the next page, click Click to see more.
6) Take note of the nonce; it will be used soon. In this example, it is 3.
7) Click the Fox in the browser and log in to MetaMask:
8) Click the Circle in MetaMask:
9) Click on Settings:
10) Click on Advanced:
11) Switch Advanced gas controls to ON:
12) Switch Customize transaction nonce to ON:
13) Click the X next to Advanced to get back to the main screen.
14) Click Send.
15) In the recipient box, type your $GALA address:
16) The next screen should look like this with 0 ETH in the amount section.
17) Hit Next, and there will be a place to enter a custom nonce; put the nonce from Etherscan here. The
gas fee can vary, but it should be roughly close to the high listed here: https://etherscan.io/gastracker.
The gas fee can be changed by clicking EDIT.
After clicking edit, select High, then click Save.
18) After the custom nonce has been entered, hit Confirm. The new transaction will replace the old
pending transaction.
