This article shows you how to import your Gala Games and Entertainment Ethereum wallet into MetaMask using your Recovery Phrase. This process is not applicable to GalaChain wallets.

To import your Gala Games and Entertainment wallet into MetaMask, you will need your 12-word recovery phrase¹ to follow this tutorial. This seed phrase allows you to use your wallet beyond the Gala Games website. This phrase is shown to you during account creation (for Legacy wallet users. See this article to learn more about Legacy Wallet vs Web 3 Wallet). This is the same phrase that you must confirm you have saved multiple times before creating a wallet.

Note: You assume all risk and responsibility for the use of this third-party wallet and any other similar wallet.

This article also assumes you have already downloaded and installed MetaMask.

Procedure

1) In this example, a fresh MetaMask installation is used. Once MetaMask is downloaded, click the Get Started button.

2) Click Import Wallet as shown below.

This prompt will appear after clicking import wallet. Decide whether or not to agree to share anonymous data with MetaMask’s developers and proceed to the next step.

3) In the seed phrase field, enter the account’s seed phrase. This can be copied and pasted from a text file.

If it needs to be entered manually, clicking the Show seed phrase button will help make sure the words

are spelled correctly and are in the right order. Make sure to also enter a memorable, but secure

password. This is needed to unlock MetaMask so it can interact with the Ethereum blockchain using the

imported wallet.

4) After clicking Import, the Congratulations page will appear, which shows that the wallet was imported successfully. Click the fox in the top right corner of the web browser2, and it will display the account’s Ethereum balance.
