Purpose
This article covers how to configure a Last Expedition (LE) Node allowing Node Owners to host their own Game servers for others to join and share in the fun!
Server Profiles allow node owners to customize their individual Last Expedition workloads with configuration, inventory, and mods while providing validation for configuration settings. Server Profiles will be the primary interface for node owners to interact with Last Expedition and provide a long term and reusable identity for their Last Expedition servers.
Assumptions Made
This article assumes you have the Gala Node Software installed and understand the information in the following articles:
Download the Gala Node Software
Node Management
Procedure
Before configuring the Last Expedition Node workload, please ensure the Node meets the following requirements:
- Gala Node Software Requirements
- Node runs the latest software version
- Port Forwarding is set
If the Port Forwarding isn't properly configured, the LE workload will not start. For more information about setting up Port Forwarding, please visit these articles:
- Configure Port Forwarding on a Router
- Opening a Firewall Port in Windows
- Confirming Port Forwarding Is Active
This guide is for Windows and Linux; Last Expedition does not run on MacOS.
1) Log in to http://lastexpedition.game using your Gala account (note this requires a popup for single sign on).
After login you will be taken to the Game Servers page (this will be empty the first time).
2) To create a new profile select “Create New Profile” on the left menu.
Profile Name is only visible to the node owner and can accept only Alpha Numeric characters (no spaces or special characters). This name cannot be used for another server profile on this same Gala account and note, that only one server may use this server profile.
Server Name is visible to players in the session browser in Last Expedition. This name must be unique and is limited to 25 characters.
Region is a drop down list of available regions, for best results this should be selected to support players in the same geographical region as the server.
Bots Mode
-
Automatic - Friendly Bots are available and one bot is automatically purchased for players with other available for purchase
-
Disabled - Friendly Bots are not available
-
Allowed - Friendly Bots are available but players must opt to purchase them
Note: Regardless of the selected Bots Mode; oppositional bots are automatically generated as mandatory enemies for empty teams on server threat Uncommon and above. There are no hostile bots at all on Beginner or Common servers.
Create New Profile will create this profile, note for this version there is no delete or update profile functionality. In the case of a mistake in the profile, a new profile should be made with the correct settings and a different Profile Name.
3) To assign this profile to a Node, go to the Server Profiles page using the menu on the left, this will give you a list of all the profiles created for the account.
4) Find the profile you want to assign to your node and copy the Profile Name (Note: There is a handy copy to clipboard button to the right of the Profile Name).
5) Now click the “Link to Gala Node Manager” button at the top of the Server Profiles page which will take you to the Gala Node Manager site (https://node.gala.com/#/node-management). Select the node you want to set up and select the workload options button.
If the server was running the previous build of Last Expedition workload click the x button next to each setting that was previously filled in (ServerName, Region, BotSettings).
6) Paste the Profile Name copied from the Server Profile Page in the ProfileName box.
7) Press the Save button, this should restart the workload automatically, if it doesn’t restart within 5 minutes click the restart button.
Upgrading to Premium
To take part in the Premium event (Last Expedition – The Mission Ready Premium Event is Coming Soon | Gala News) Nodes will need to have a Server Profile with the Premium Server Upgrade applied.
1) On the Server Profiles Page select the profile you want to upgrade.
2) Then click the "UPGRADE SERVER PROFILE" button to open the Server Profile Store.
3) Click the "BUY" button to open the Gala Website in a popup window, where you will need to accept the request to give Last Expedition burn allowance to your Last Expedition FTs. After approval, the window will close, and your server will automatically be upgraded to premium and be eligible to participate in the event.
NOTE: If you do not have enough Core Chunks to make the purchase you can either play the game to earn some
OR
Click on the Core Chunks icon in the upper right to be taken to Gala Swap where you can trade with other users to get the required 3 Core Chunks (LECC).
