Getting Started in VEXI Villages: A Beginner’s Guide

This article explains how to get started in VEXI Villages, including basic setup, early gameplay, and how to participate in events.

Welcome to VEXI Villages! Whether you're brand new to Gala Games or a returning player, this guide will walk you through everything you need to start your adventure, manage your Frontiers, and participate in events.

Step 1: Download the Game

You can play VEXI Villages on both Android and iOS. Download the app from:

Install the game, launch it, and you're ready to begin.

Step 2: Connect a Gala Games Account (Optional but Recommended)

You can start playing without an account, but some features require you to connect one. A Gala Games account unlocks the ability to:

  • Participate in live events
  • Use your VEXI and other NFTs
  • Sync progress across devices

Step 3: Begin Building Your City Block

After starting the game, you’ll arrive at your City Block—the heart of your progress and strategy. Here, you’ll:

  • Place buildings to expand your city

  • Attract visitors who interact with your shops and generate Bits and Bytes

To get started, tap any Empty Slot to build. These slots are available right away, letting you quickly place your first business and kick off your city’s development.

Once you select a building to place:

  1. Assign a worker (VEXI or ProtoVEXI) to begin construction.
  2. After construction is complete, assign a worker to operate the building and serve incoming visitors.

Note: Some large buildings may require Level 2 or higher to unlock.

Step 4: Gather Resources in Frontiers

Your Frontier is your outdoor land where you send workers to gather essential resources like:

  • Wood
  • Stone
  • Metal

Frontiers are accessed from the World Map, which is also where you’ll find the Voyages feature.

Resources from Frontiers are needed for:

  • Constructing buildings
  • Crafting items

Assign workers by selecting a Frontier and choosing an available slot, then deploy a VEXI or ProtoVEXI to gather essential resources and gain experience over time.

Step 5: Voyages

Voyages are accessed from the World Map. Assign a worker to a Voyage to send them off on a timed mission.

⛵ These missions reward special resources—what you receive is part of the fun, so keep exploring!

Step 6: Check for Visitor Activity

Once your buildings are open for business, return to your City Block after some time to see if any visitors have shopped there. Visitors will generate Bits and Bytes when they interact with buildings they like.

💡 Tip: In VEXI Villages, news spreads quickly—higher appeal can attract more curious visitors.

Step 7: Leveling Up Your City Blocks

In VEXI Villages, leveling up your city block is progression-based and varies at each level, with a Current level cap of 10. Each level requires:

  • 🟨 Bits
  • 🔨 Idols crafted in the Crafting Garage

The Idols themselves require resources like wood, stone, and metal, which are collected by your workers in the Frontier. Idols are crafted using different combinations of basic resources, and requirements may vary slightly as you progress through levels.

For example, to reach Level 2, you’ll need:

  • 500 Bits
  • 1 Chicken Figurine Idol, crafted in the Garage

The Chicken Figurine requires:

  • 500 Wood
  • 125 Metal
  • 150 Stone
  • 1 Gray Printer Filament

To level up:

  1. Click your profile picture in the top left corner of the game screen.
  2. Tap "Upgrade Ladder" at the bottom of your profile screen.
  3. Check what you need for the next level.
  4. Craft the required Idol using the 3D Printer in your Crafting Garage.
  5. Hit "Level Up" when you have all items.

Your Crafting Garage is available from Level 1, and lets you produce various items including the Idol needed for your first level up.

✨ Tip: Use the Crafting Garage to select and print an Idol. You'll need it to reach Level 2 and beyond.

The Shop

The shop is accessed via the Store icon. Here, you can:

  • Purchase Blueprints and Printer Filaments for crafting
  • Open Land Chests for new Frontiers using Bytes
  • Collect your Daily Free Reward
  • Buy Bits Bundles
  • Sell excess Resources like metal and stone

Browse the Store to explore items and keep an eye out for Daily Deals!

Events and Leaderboard

Events like "VEXI at Work" offer time-limited challenges that reward top-performing players.

  • No level requirement — even Level 1 City Blocks can participate!

  • Earn event points by matching visitor preferences with the event theme.
    Only buildings aligned with the active event’s special preferences—such as Office Supplies or Coffee Cups for the VEXI at Work event—will generate event points.

  • Climb the leaderboard by collecting points and aim to rank among the top 350 to earn tiered rewards and $GALA.

You can join events directly from the City Block screen.
