This article explains the term Legacy Wallet and how it differs from the new Web 3 Wallet integration in the various Gala Games and Entertainment websites.
This article assumes the reader understands the information in the following article:
When a user has a Legacy wallet, it means their wallet has not been upgraded to the new Web 3 wallet standard in a Gala Games and Entertainment account. An easy way to see if a wallet has a Legacy wallet is by checking an account's Linked Accounts in their Settings.
The Connect $GALA Wallet option will have a "Connected" status if it is a legacy wallet.
If it is a Web 3 Wallet, if a user has not connected to the website using a Coinbase wallet or other wallet extension, it will show the wallet as disconnected and show a Connect button.
Both wallets can be used externally, but a web3 wallet provides more flexibility and full control over their wallets as it offers more features. With a Web3 Wallet, users can connect a different wallet to a Gala Games and Entertainment account, enabling users to use a hardware wallet. With the previous Legacy wallet, it is not an option.
