Procedure
Launching Issues
If a user is experiencing issues launching Spider Tanks these steps can help resolve these issues.
1a) Make sure that the Gala Games Launcher is installed. Read Install The Gala Games Launcher on windows and MacOS to learn how.
1b) Ensure that the computer playing Spider Tanks meets the listed Spider Tanks Hardware Requirements in this article.
1c) If the play button is not working, try clearing the web browser's cache. If you use Brave Browser, disable the shields and refresh the browser.
1d) If both Spider Tanks and the Gala Games launcher are installed, and the play button isn't working, uninstall both applications. After uninstalling them, reboot the device and reinstall both once again.
Launcher Issues
If a user experiences an error like the one below, they may have an issue with their game launcher.
Users can resolve this issue by:
1) Delete any Spider Tanks installers as well as any old installers.
2) Clear the website cache of the web browser being used to download Spider Tanks and restart the program.
3) Download a fresh installer of Spider Tanks directly from the Gala Games site.
Anti Virus / Ad Blocking Issues
Sometimes antivirus or Ad blockers can cause the play button to not work correctly. Users can add Gala Games' website to the list of exceptions to fix the issue. If the game is not launching properly, add the following exceptions to the user's antivirus program:
- C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Gala Launcher\GalaLauncher.exe
- C:\Program Files\GAMEDIA\Spider Tanks\SpiderTanks.exe
Game Issues
If a user is having issues accessing specific features, try the following steps below.
1a) If the game starts but it is stuck at a black screen updating/loading, this is due to not enough disk space. Make sure to free up storage to meet the requirements listed in the Spider Tanks Hardware Requirements article.
GalaChain NFT Not Appearing In-Game
When a person interacts with GalaChain such as Bridging an NFT or purchasing a GalaChain NFT, certain steps must be taken to ensure the game knows what is in a person's wallet.
1a) Users that launch the game will be asked for a GalaChain Allowance if they want to play the game. Enter the account's Transfer Code to allow the wallet to interact with Spider Tanks.
1b) If a person's purchase or bridge does not appear in the game, make sure the game is not running in the background. Often times, users may need to wait a few minutes until a user's item appears in the game after launch.
Users that have recently interacted with GalaChain will need to restart their game if they had the game open while doing so.
Drop pod Deployment Issues
When a user extends a Drop Pod, this can result in the Drop Pod not appearing to the person they are renting to. When this happens, it is best for the users to wait until the Drop Pod expires and then use Redeploy to send the Drop Pod back out again.
Drop pod Redeployment Issues
When Redeploying or Unpacking all Drop Pods, users may experience a Gala Server error. When this occurs, the drop pod is usually already deployed. Users must close the game and reopen it to check if it fixed their issue.
Disconnecting When Joining a Match
When purchasing a tank part or NFT to use in the game, users must approve a token allowance. A Token Allowance prompt usually appears after a successful purchase has been completed and processed. If a purchase hasn't fully completed when a player starts up the game, they may suddenly get disconnected after joining a match. This is because the player did not approve the token allowance for the new tank part before starting the game. Please read this article to learn more:
