What is GalaChain?

GalaChain is a games-first layer-1 Web3 solution developed by Gala Games. This blockchain is designed to harness all the Web3 power we need while eliminating the parts we don't. We're proud to say that Spider Tanks is the first game we have launched on GalaChain, and even prouder to say this is only the beginning. 

Is Spider Tanks supported on Mac?

Yes! You can download and play the game here on the Spider Tanks Website.

I'm trying to download Spider Tanks on my phone, but I don't see the download button on the game page (https://app.gala.games/games).

Spider Tanks is only supported on PC or macOS.

When I try to update the game the progress continues to reset or stops at X%.

Please try the following in order: 
1. Clear browser cache (reopen browser to check for Play button) 
2. Try disabling UBlock Origin (a popular adblock chrome extension) for the website. 
3. If not play button -> Uninstall gala-launcher-win and spidertanks.exe using the uninstall utility in windows 
4. Reboot 
5. Download Gala Launcher from the Gala Games website and install Spider Tanks 
 
*If you're using an antivirus like Mcafee you should exclude the following files from real-time scanning: gala-launcher-win.exe, gala-run.exe, spidertanks.exe

Do I have to own a tank in order to play Spider Tanks?

You do not need to own any tanks to play Spider Tanks. You can either select free rotational tanks or participate in the Spider Tanks Pilot Program.

The free rotational tanks and the Tanks in the Pilot Program cannot be upgraded, traded, or sold. The main difference between free rotational tanks and Tasks in the Pilot Program is that free rotational tanks cannot earn Victory Points.

What's the difference between the rarity of tank parts?

Rarities for tank bodies or weapons come in Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Ancient. 

The difference between a non-upgraded common and a non-upgraded legendary will be substantial. There is not a stats difference between a perfectly upgraded common to the same level as a legendary and a legendary.

Can I play with a body that has a different rarity than the weapon?

Yes, you can play a tank that is composed of different rarity parts. For example, a Rare Body with a Common Weapon or vice versa. The average level of the tank body + weapon will be used to form matches with others of the same average level.

How do upgrades work?

A tank part = a body or a weapon
An upgrade component = resources needed to upgrade your tank parts

The upgrade process will require component parts.

Each time a part is upgraded, a rating will be given. Any particular upgrade can fall anywhere on a spectrum between “decent” to “perfect”. 

What are the upgrade quality tiers for Spider Tanks?

Perfect
Excellent
Great
Good
Decent 

This list starts from perfect which is the best upgrade to decent which is the worst upgrade. 

Are component parts NFTs?

Parts are not NFTs. They are used to upgrade NFTs 

How is cheating being prevented?

We're working on implementing several anti-cheat systems. The last closed beta already actually had some people getting banned because of speed hacking and such. A “Report a Player” function is considered for the future. 

Can we chat with opponents and team members in the game?

Yes, you can chat with your team or all players before, during, and after a match. Use the following keys to start a chat. 
T = All players 
Y = Team only 
TAB = After selecting T or Y for chat you can switch modes by hitting tab 
RETURN = Post message 
Customize which keys are used from SETTINGS > INPUT 

Can we track player stats?

There will be at least a personal stats page for each player, yes. Winrate, wins, losses, damage done, kills, assists, healing done, damage blocked, distance walked.. stuff like that. 

What affects VP earnings?

- Your item's level (MASSIVE)
- Your ELO
- How many games you've played with these items already (diminishing returns)
- The rarities of the others in the game
- The ELO of the others in the game
- The rarity of the map assigned to the game 
.... and more. 

What Tank Parts Earn VP?

A tank's weapon and body affects VP earnings. 

Can I earn from a tank I am Piloting?

Yes, Captains and Pilots share 50:50 of the Victory Points earned in a match. 

Can I earn Victory Points from a free tank?

No, only bridged NFTs to GalaChain can earn Victory Points 

Does skins / props earn VP?

No 

Why is my GalaChain NFT is not appearing in-game?

If you recently interacted with GalaChain such as Bridging an NFT or purchasing a GalaChain NFT, you will have to restart the game and would get prompted for a GalaChain Allowance. 

Why is the "Download Launcher" button not working on Mac/downloaded and installed but it still shows "Download Launcher"?

If you are using Safari, use a different browser. If you are using brave, disable brave shield.
